Vendor FAQ
Practical answers about applying, publishing, honest availability, and the current launch limits.
Joining Slap
Who can apply?
An adult owner of an independent food business may apply, including a food truck, cart, cottage food business, home cook, pop-up, private chef, or caterer. Listing a category does not guarantee approval. The owner remains responsible for applicable permits and food rules.
I already use Slap. Do I need another account?
No. Sign in with your existing person-level account and apply with that account. If you are new, create your own account and verify the requested contacts before applying. Do not give a Sales representative your password or one-time code.
What information does the application request?
Expect owner contact details, business name and type, operating area, legal-status and adult attestations, public profile information, and acceptance of the current Vendor Guidelines. Slap may ask for more information or supporting evidence during review.
Can Sales staff prepare my Storefront?
Yes, with your permission. Staff may prepare a private draft and guide a handoff, but the owner must use their own account, review the details, accept the policies, and control publication. Staff should not keep your credentials or verification codes.
Will I get a text during handoff?
Only if you separately agree to an optional text for that handoff. Email and QR remain available. Slap asks again before a replacement text; reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
What does approval mean?
Approval gives an eligible vendor access to the Storefront and Studio. It is not a Slap inspection, food-safety certification, government approval, or guarantee of sales. You still need to finish and explicitly publish the public Storefront.
How do I create my Storefront?
Choose Sell on Slap in your Profile and complete the application. After approval, review your business details in Studio and publish your Storefront when it is ready.
Publishing and customer expectations
What should go in my Storefront?
Use accurate business details, permitted media, a safe public operating area, and a customer contact route. Do not publish your private home or preparation address unless an approved flow specifically calls for an allowed operational location.
What is a Drop?
A Drop is a limited offering with Items, quantities, an availability or Ordering Window, and a separate Pickup Window when preordering is supported. Pilot accounts may test sandbox Drops. Live paid ordering has not opened.
What is an Appearance?
An Appearance tells customers where and when you plan to be physically available. It can connect to a Drop or Event. Keep the time and public location current.
Can I say 'only five left' or 'selling out fast'?
Yes only when the statement is true and current. The Vendor Guidelines ban manufactured urgency, scarcity, popularity, sell-outs, and demand. Update quantities and sold-out status promptly; do not invent customers, orders, or reviews.
What if a time, location, Item, or quantity changes?
Update the material detail promptly. Cancel a listing you cannot fulfill and mark a limited Drop sold out when availability ends. Do not leave an outdated claim in a Post or external call to action.
Can I link Instagram or my own ordering site?
Yes, when the link is relevant and truthful. External orders are between you, the customer, and that provider. Disclose the destination's price, fees, cancellation and refund rules, availability, pickup or delivery method, allergen information, and a contact route.
What media can I upload or link?
Use only media you own or have permission to use, including rights to people, music, artwork, trademarks, and locations. Avoid private documents, payment screens, and identifiable people without permission. Do not use unrelated social content as promotion.
What are my food-safety responsibilities?
You are responsible for the laws and rules that apply to each product and place you operate, including permits, handling, temperature, labeling, allergens, and taxes. Tell Slap if your authority to operate changes.
How do Reviews and discovery work?
Use genuine customer experiences and engagement. Never buy or coordinate Reviews, follows, reminders, clicks, reports, or other ranking signals. Slap may label an action verified only when it has a reliable basis.
Money, privacy, and help
Can customers pay me through Slap now?
No live Slap checkout, payouts, or tax transactions are enabled. Any test-only pilot Drop is a sandbox. Paid ordering requires a separate launch, eligibility, and payment setup; do not tell customers a test Drop is a real order.
What is the first $2,500 offer?
The advertised offer is planned, not active. It would cover specified transaction charges on the first $2,500 of qualifying processed volume, ending at that threshold or 90 days after account opening. Final controlling eligibility and offer terms must be published before activation.
Will my exact location be public?
Choose an exact public point only when customers may safely and lawfully see it. Use an approximate area for a private residence or sensitive location. A private exact point may be used for nearby matching without being shown publicly.
Can a youth-driven business join?
Yes, with a parent or guardian who is at least 18. That adult applies through their own account, manages the Storefront, and takes responsibility for the business on Slap. Slap staff must review the setup before it goes public. Only approved public-event locations can be shared; home addresses and live GPS stay private. Contact help@onslap.com for help getting started.
How do I handle a report or policy action?
Respond truthfully to a request for information. Slap may limit, remove, or preserve content and restrict an account or Storefront for safety, integrity, or legal reasons. Use the contact route to ask about a decision or appeal.
Where can I get help?
Use the contact form or email team@onslap.com with the Storefront, application, or listing involved. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, or unnecessary private customer data.
Need help with your application?
Contact Slap with the account and business involved. Keep passwords and one-time codes private.
